Pacific National awarded Australia’s largest freight rail contract

Pacific National awarded AustraliaÆs largest freight rail contract Australian railroad Pacific National has been awarded the country's largest ever freight rail contract by BlueScope Steel and OneSteel.
   Under the terms of the seven-year A$1 billion ($783 million) contract, Pacific National, through its SteelLink Division, will transport about 3 million tons of steel product across Australia each year.
   Toll Holdings earlier this week announced a restructuring process that will split the company into two entities, in the hope it will be able to waive its obligation to sell 50 percent of Pacific National, which the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission made a condition of its takeover of Australian ports and airport operator Patrick Corp.
