PACTL sees record airfreight tonnage in first half 2015

Shanghai Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal Co., Ltd. reported it handled 762,104 tons of cargo at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport for the first half of 2015 , up 10.9 percent from the same period in 2014.    Shanghai Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal Co., Ltd. (PACTL) handled 762,104 tons of air freight during the first half of 2015, up 10.9 percent from the same period in 2014 and a record result for the first six months of any year.
   PACTL attributed its success to a positive development in international imports throughout the year and a sharp increase in domestic exports last quarter.
   Import cargo volumes were up 14.7 percent to 315,044 tons for the first half of 2015 in comparison to the same period in 2014. International imports were up 15 percent to 290,317 tons, and domestic imports were up 10.7 percent to 24,727 tons.
   Export cargo volumes were up 8.4 percent to 447,060 tons. International exports were up 7.6 percent to 420,109 tons, and domestic exports were up 21.5 percent to 26,951 tons.
   PACTL said it gained 10 new customer airlines and handled 49.3 percent of air cargo at Shanghai Pudong International Airport in the first half of 2015.
