Panalpina expands into western China

Panalpina expands into western China    Panalpina has increased its presence in western China by opening an office in Chonqging, following its Wuhan service center and Chengdu office.
   From Chongqing, Panalpina will offer its customers a mix of overland transportation, an extensive global air network, and access to international seaports via the Yangtze River.
   'Panalpina has been operating in this western region for 10 years now and with the opening of this office, we are taking the next important step in our 'Go West' strategy,' said Rudolf W Hug, chairman of the Swiss freight forwarder.
   Panalpina opened its first office in China 35 years ago. Today, the company has 20 branches and 1,500 employees in the China market.
