PANALPINA EXPANDS SOUTH AFRICAN PARTNERSHIP

PANALPINA EXPANDS SOUTH AFRICAN PARTNERSHIP    The Panalpina Group has agreed to extend its nearly three-decade-old partnership with South African agent Safcor Freight, in which the companies will market and offer their services to and from South Africa under one entity.
   The partners will operate under the trade name Safcor Panalpina. Bruno Sidler, chief executive officer of Panalpina has been appointed a member of Safcor Freight's board.
   Patrick Lacroix, Panalpina's head delegate in South Africa, will join the new organization as forwarding director. He will assume marketing and customer relations responsibilities with regard to global accounts.
   “Safcor has always been a very good and loyal partner for us,” Sidler said. “By combining Panalpina's global logistics know-how and Safcor's local expertise and experience, we will be able to meet the individual needs of our customers even more efficiently.
