Panalpina names HellmannÆs Weyeneth North America CEO
Swiss logistics group Panalpina has selected Karl Weyeneth to replace the retiring Hans-Peter Merath as regional chief executive officer for North America.
Weyeneth was Hellmann Worldwide Logistics' president and CEO for the Americas. He will take up the position at Panalpina on Feb. 1. Weyeneth will be one of the six regional CEOs reporting directly to Monika Ribar, the group's new president and CEO. (See an interview with Ribar in the December American Shipper, pages 40-41.)
Merath has been with Panalpina for more than 40 years and took over the top role for the North America region in April 2005 when David Beatson suddenly resigned citing strategic differences.
