Panalpina, RedPrairie enter partnership

   Panalpina Group, a global third-party logistics provider, has partnered with RedPrairie to include the Atlanta-based supply chain and retail technology supplier’s applications in its systems.
   Through the partnership, Panalpina plans to boost its value-added logistics services and enhance automation and efficiency.   
   One feature that RedPrairie’s system will give Panalpina is a standardized global platform to build customized solutions for its value-added logistics services. Panalpina said the first areas to benefit from the unified IT base will be the high-tech, automotive and healthcare industries. For these, the 3PL will use various modules from RedPrairie’s inventory, transportation, and workforce management suite.
   The modular nature of RedPrairie’s suite will assist Panalpina to more directly tailor its services and offerings to individual customers.
   Panalpina Chief Executive Officer Monika Ribar said the pairing of the firms is part of a larger global expansion plan for the 3PL.
   Panalpina operates a global network with 500 branches in more than 80 countries, as well as having partnerships that cover an additional 80 countries.
