Panalpina starts 6 ex-Shanghai LCL services

Panalpina said Wednesday it has started six new direct less-than-container load (LCL) services from Shanghai to Southeast Asia.
The services will link the world’s busiest container port with Keelung, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Singpaore, and Jakarta. The service is offered through Panalpina’s in-house non-vessel-operating common carrier Pantainer Express Line.
“The six new guaranteed weekly services have been launched to meet increased customer demand, especially in the consumer, high-tech and telecom industry and to strengthen Panalpina’s position as one of the leading LCL service providers on the intra-Asia trade,” the company said in a statement. “The services to Bangkok and Singapore have already existed but have now been upgraded to two and three sailings, respectively, per week.”
The new LCL services are part of Panalpina’s long-term strategy to grow business on key Asia trade lanes, especially on the Far East westbound, transpacific eastbound, intra-Asia, Asia-to-Latin America and Asia-to-Middle East trades, the company said.
