Panama Canal workshop slated in Tampa

Panama Canal workshop slated in Tampa The American Association of Port Authorities and the U.S. Maritime Administration will present a seminar in Tampa, Jan. 23-24, to examine the Panama Canal expansion's impact on ports on the Atlantic side of the canal.
   The program will be hosted by the Tampa Port Authority. Confirmed speakers include Alberto Alem'n, administrator of the Panam' Canal Authority; Stephen Edwards, president and chief executive officer of Ports America Inc.; Gordon Kay, president of Zim American Integrated Shipping; Ian Cairns, senior vice president, marine terminal operations, of CMA-CGM; Kenneth Joergensen, director of network strategy and procurement for Maersk Line; and John Paul Woodley, U.S. assistant secretary of the Army for civil works.
