Panjiva: More companies ship to U.S.    Trade information service Panjiva said there was a significant uptick in trade activity during July.
   The company, which tracks which companies are shipping goods to the United States, said that from June to July, there was a 7 percent increase in the number of global manufacturers shipping to the U.S. market.
   Also the percentage of significant manufacturers on its “watch list” declined slightly to 29 percent. The watch list are supplier Panjiva said are at risk of going out of business, having suffered a year-over-year drop of 50 percent or more, in terms of volume shipped to U.S. customers.
   However, the company noted that last year from June 2008 to July 2008, there was a 6 percent increase in the number of global manufacturers shipping to the U.S. market, indicating that there may be a strong seasonal component to this year’s increase.
   It also said the number of companies shipping to the United States is about 10 percent down from this time last year.
