PANYNJ’s Maher depot begins transition to new location

The daily empty return information on the Maher website will indicate where empties are being received and/or dispatched from throughout the move.    The Maher Empty Depot, operated at the Port of New York & New Jersey by Columbia Container Services, began transitioning from its current location at 142 Marsh St., Port Newark, to 1100 Polaris St., Elizabeth NJ on Dec. 15.
   According to Maher Terminals management, the transition is expected to continue through the week ending Fri., Dec. 22.
   The daily empty return information on the Maher website will indicate where empties are being received to and/or dispatched from through the transition, whether it is Columbia Container Services’ Port Newark or Elizabeth, NJ locations, CCS said in a statement.
   Drayage companies are being advised to check the Maher website prior to sending drivers, in order to determine which location empty containers are being directed to.
