Paper company leases distribution facility in Santa Fe Springs

Paper company leases distribution facility in Santa Fe Springs Solaris Paper has signed a lease for the final available building at the Golden Springs Business Center in Santa Fe Springs for $16.56 million.
   The manufacturing and distribution facility, totaling 200,068 square feet, is under construction and scheduled for completion by the end of July.
   Solaris, which manufactures and distributes towels, tissues, napkins and other paper products, chose the site due to its proximity to the firm's headquarters in nearby Cerritos.
   The Golden Springs Business Center, built on the site of a former oil refinery, is one of the region's best land reuse success stories.
   The closure of the Golden West Oil Refinery in 1997 led to the loss of more than 350 well-paying jobs and left the Santa Fe Springs community with 265 acres of unusable, blighted, and contaminated land.    A public-private partnership was formed with the Santa Fe Springs Community Development Commission, the Community Development Commission of Los Angeles County, and the Golden Springs Development Company to revitalize the property.
   The result was the development of the Golden Springs Business Center, a now-fully leased site comprising 5.3 million square feet of industrial park with 23 buildings ranging from 18,702 square feet to more than 817,364.
