PaperWorks to use Transplace TMS

The logistics transportation management services provider Transplace said Monday that Philadelphia-based PaperWorks Industries, a North American packaging company, will use its transportation management system (TMS) to manage shipments in North America.
The TMS will be used for outbound shipments from two PaperWorks mills to customers located throughout the country, as well as select inbound shipments from the manufacturer’s fiber supplier network. The company’s paperboard group manufactures about 300,000 tons of 100-percent recycled paperboard each year for a variety of end uses, and further specializes in the cutting and distribution of all paper types.
“Transplace brings deep experience and understanding of the packaging and manufacturing industry and comprehensive logistics technology to help our organization increase service levels and on-time deliveries,” said Mark P. Roy, executive vice president of PaperWorks’ paperboard group. “Through our collaborative partnership, PaperWorks will look to improve its transportation planning, execution and management and established centralized processes across all of our mill facilities for greater operational efficiency.”
