Parade time, Miami truckers
Truckers making a run to the Port of Miami can't say they haven't been warned in advance.
When Miami Heat coach Pat Riley arrived 11 years ago, he famously promised a parade down Biscayne Boulevard. Friday, that promise comes true, and the Port of Miami is giving one more advanced warning: Biscayne Boulevard will be closed at noon Friday and port officials expect post-parade activities to continue around American Airlines Arena'immediately adjacent to the port entrance'until around 5 p.m.
With Biscayne Boulevard closed, traffic will be rerouted to Northeast 2nd Avenue.
'Port user traffic will be significantly impacted. Please coordinate accordingly,' a statement from the port said, adding both 'We apologize for the inconvenience' and 'Congratulations Miami Heat.'
