Parra named CEO at DHL Express

DHL Express has chosen Mike Parra as chief executive officer of the organization’s U.S. express division, the company announced Thursday.
“Mike is a proven leader with a vast amount of successful local and international experience in our industry, great business vision and ability to engage and bring people together,” said Stephen Fenwick, CEO of DHL Express, Americas, in a statement. “His commitment to service excellence and extraordinary customer-centric approach will serve us well as we continue to invest in our U.S. network for global customers.”
Parra most recently served as senior vice president of network operations for the DHL Express Americas region.
In 1997, Parra began his career with DHL Express as a service center manager in Florida and progressed through senior management roles, eventually being appointed general manager and senior vice president in 2009.
Since 2011, he has been responsible for all aspects of operations in the Americas.
In addition to his new role as CEO, he will become a member of the U.S. Management Board and will remain a member of the Americas Management Board.
Parra replaces Ian Clough, who served since 2009. Clough is the new managing director for TNT Express’ international Europe division. The newly created division is part of TNT Express’ management restructuring.
