Passengers on flight from China briefly detained in Newark    Passengers arriving at Newark Liberty Airport on a flight from Hong Kong were detained for two hours before being allowed to disembark Monday afternoon because some passengers reported feeling ill.
   According to local press reports, the Continental flight arrived in New Jersey at around 2 p.m. and passengers were allowed to leave at 4 p.m. after officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determined that some of them had symptoms common to seasonal flu.
   There were 272 passengers on the plane during the flight, and the cabin crew notified health authorities when they noticed that several passengers appeared ill and other passengers began to exhibit symptoms during the 15 hour flight.
   Health workers interviewed passengers and passed information on to a CDC Global Migration and Quarantine representative at John F. Kennedy International Airport, before it was determined that there was no reason to think the illnesses were more serious.
