PBB Logistics completes UIL, UCS purchases

PBB Logistics completes UIL, UCS purchases    Ontario-based PBB Global Logistics, a customs broker and freight forwarder with operations on the U.S./Canadian border, has completed the previously announced acquisition of Unicity Integrated Logistics Inc. (UIL) and Unicity Customs Services Inc. (UCS) for C$42 million ($34 million).
   According to PBB, the acquisition will add about 300,000 square feet. of space to PBB’s network of regional distribution centers across North America, including new locations in Winnipeg, Chicago and Tillsonburg, Ontario.
   PBB said it intends to merge the two brokerage operations over the course of the next few months, although UIL will continue to operate on a standalone basis for an indefinite period of time.
