Peruvian ambassador to address Broward Alliance

Peruvian ambassador to address Broward Alliance P. Michael McKinley, U.S. ambassador to Peru, will be the guest speaker at a luncheon for the Broward Alliance in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
   With the U.S.-Peru free trade agreement just signed into law on Dec. 14 the prospects for trade with Peru are on the upswing, and McKinley will speak about not only the new Peru agreement, but pending trade agreement with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea.
   McKinley, a career diplomat, has been ambassador to Peru since August. His immediate past assignment was deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels from 2004 to 2007. He has also had tours in Mozambique, Uganda, at the U.S. embassy in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Bolivia, with tours in Washington as well. Born in Venezuela and raised in Mexico, Spain, and the United States, he has been a member of the U.S. Foreign Service since 1982.
   The luncheon will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at The Tower Club, One Financial Plaza, 28th floor, in Fort Lauderdale. The cost is $30 for members and $40 for guests. Seating is limited, and RSVPs must be sent to Sara Feder at sfeder@browardalliance.org or by calling (954) 627-0132.
