Petersen serves as director of regulatory affairs for Maersk Maritime Technology at A.P. Moller – Maersk Group in Copenhagen.
BIMCO Secretary General Torben C. Skaanild said in a statement that Petersen 'will play an important role in BIMCO continuing to offer practical and pragmatic solutions to issues facing the shipping industry and strengthening the services we offer to our members.'
BIMCO has two deputy secretaries. Pedersen will focus on further consolidating BIMCO's industry affairs activities involving political and regulatory developments at the international, regional and national levels, while Deputy Secretary S'ren Larsen will focus on BIMCO's documentary work and legal aspects to further strengthen this core activity, the maritime organization said.
