Phoenix International founder McInerney retires

Bill McInerney, founder of Wood Dale, Ill.-based freight forwarder and non-vessel-operating common carrier Phoenix International Freight Services Ltd., has retired as the company’s chief executive officer after 27 years. He will now serve as chairman of board of directors.

   Stephane Rambaud is Phoenix’s new CEO and president. Rambaud has served as president and chief operating officer since 2003.

   The company generated nearly $800 million in fiscal year 2007 revenue. It employs more than 1,500 staff in 25 offices in the United States, 22 in Asia, 16 in the Indian subcontinent, and eight in Europe.
