Dr. John A. Glenn Jr. and Dr. Mark Griffis were sentenced in U.S. District Court in Dublin, Ga., on Nov. 14 for their roles in a conspiracy to falsify records with intent to impede the proper administration of the Department of Transportation.
Glenn, who was indicted in March and pleaded guilty in May, was sentenced to 15 months of incarceration, three years of supervised release, a $3,000 fine and $4,900 in special assessment and court costs. Griffis, who was convicted during a jury trial in June, received a sentence of 30 months of incarceration, three years of supervised release and a $6,000 fine.
The DOT Office of Inspector General said its investigation revealed Glenn and Griffis routinely signed DOT medical examiner’s certificates and medical examination reports for CDL holders without examining the drivers.
