Pilot Air’s revenue up 7% in 2006

Pilot Air’s revenue up 7% in 2006 Lima, Pa-based Pilot Air Freight said that increased national, international and government-contracted shipments helped it achieve annual revenue of $322.8 million in 2006, up 7 percent over 2005’s performance.
   Pilot handled 754,384 shipments totaling nearly 440 million pounds during 2006.
   Revenue from Pilot’s national accounts rose 12 percent to $106.4 million while its international commercial division increased 14 percent to $62.6 million. Sales from its government business sector jumped 22 percent to $30 million.
   Looking ahead to 2007, Pilot said it expects “dramatic growth” in its international and newly started logistics services divisions.
   “2006 was another prosperous year for Pilot,” said Richard G. Phillips, Pilot’s president, chairman and chief executive officer. “We’re carrying 2006’s positive momentum into 2007, and we’re confident we’ll see more growth to come.”
