Plantation gearing up for next Gateway District round The City of Plantation in Broward County is gearing up for the final round of its Plantation Gateway District project, which encourages businesses to locate in eastern Plantation to take advantage of the access to Interstate 95, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades.
   The city's Community Redevelopment Agency is seeking proposals for the final round of Catalytic Investment Grants that will be available to businesses with development proposals within the Gateway District. Final proposals must be submitted from Sept. 4 through Oct. 11.
   The district is about 10 minutes away from the airport and seaport, and potential development properties are located along main arterial streets, including State Road 7.
