P&O NEDLLOYD REPORTS FULL 1998 RESULTS
P&O Nedlloyd Container Line reported that it made a net
after-tax loss of $14 million in 1998.
The Anglo-Dutch carrier disclosed its detailed results in its 1998
annual report, just published. The figures include the freight forwarding, trucking and
container depots activities of the group.
P&O Nedlloyd also reported a 1998 operating profit of $81 million
on revenue of $3.94 billion, with a pre-tax deficit of $1 million.
In 1997, its first year of operations since the merger of P&O
Containers and Nedlloyd Lines, P&O Nedlloyd had a net deficit after tax of $83
million.
