Polar Air adds flights

Polar Air Cargo will begin non-stop Boeing 747-400 service between Cincinnati and Tokyo by the end of April.
The carrier is also planning to add two more days onto its freighter connection to Australia on two new B767-300ERF planes.
“We are very pleased to provide critical uplift connecting Japan and the Midwestern part of the United States – specifically the Ohio Valley – where there is a concentration of Japanese manufacturers who require increased and reliable daily service,” Polar’s Thomas Murphy said in a statement.
Atlas Air, Polar’s parent company, will service the routes, which will benefit Polar customers like DHL. Last week, DHL announced that it would be increasing its services in Asia, offering direct flights from its hub in Cincinnati to Nagoya and returning via Tokyo. – Jon Ross
