Poole has more than 20 years of government finance, accounting and auditing experience. Before joining the port authority in 2006 as director of finance, Poole served as deputy port director at the Port of Pensacola, where he was in charge of administrative, financial and operations aspects at the port. He also previously served as an auditor for the Florida Auditor General and with a public accounting firm.
