Port Canaveral opens new headquarters

Port Canaveral opens new headquarters Port Canaveral officials dedicated the new Canaveral Port Authority headquarters Friday.
   The three-story building, the Port Canaveral Maritime Center, has been renovated to accommodate the port authority's 200-plus employees.
   The old headquarters, which has been placed on the market for sale, was the same 1950s facility that housed the port's original three employees, port officials noted.
   'The new facility offers improvements in staff productivity, efficiency, technology, security and comfort,' said J. Stanley 'Stan' Payne, Port Canaveral's chief executive officer. 'It reflects the port's forward-thinking business strategy and also provides another venue for hosting community events.'
   The port authority administrative staff will occupy the third floor of the new headquarters. New Commission Chambers are on the first floor, where the firm CH2M Hill is also leasing space. The entire second floor is available for lease.
