Port Canaveral ready to advance drainage project    Port Canaveral officials say roadside work for an extensive storm water-draining project at the port is expected to be underway during the week of Christmas, kicking off a project that will last several months.
   The Cove Area Regional Stormwater Pond Project includes development of new drainage ponds and improvements to the overall drainage system within the port area. Work on the ponds is already underway, with a retention pond being created within the State Road 401 loop.
   When the next phase of work begins, the contractor will start at the corner of Mullet Drive and Scallop Drive and work westward along Mullet Drive.
