Port Everglades hosting meeting on master plan

Port Everglades hosting meeting on master plan    Officials from Port Everglades will present an overview of the port's master plan update at a meeting Thursday    September 7 in Fort Lauderdale.
   The port announced on July 18 that it will prepare a comprehensive, five-year master plan this year. The last master plan was done in 2001. In addition, the port is preparing 'vision plans' that look ahead 10 years and 20 years.
   The port has retained the services of DMJM Harris, a nationally recognized engineering, planning, and economic analysis consulting firm with headquarter offices in both New York and Los Angeles.
   The meeting Thursday is intended to provide an overview of the master plan update process and to allow the public to provide input on future plans for the port.
   The meeting will be held in the Broward County Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Avenue, in Fort Lauderdale. There will be a reception beginning at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation and public forum from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
