PORT OF BRUNSWICK MAINTAINS RECORD PACE FOR AUTOS, MACHINERY    The Georgia Ports Authority's port of Brunswick handled 44,037 automobile and machinery units during July and August, the first two months of its fiscal year, up 45 percent over the year-earlier period.
   Brunswick's Colonel's Island Terminal handled a record 251,230 automobile and machinery units during is last fiscal year ended June 30.
   'If the economy continues to strengthen and the retail market for automobiles remains steady, we could see another record-breaking year,' said Bill Haspel, vice president of Southeastern ports for Amports, one of three auto processors operating from the Brunswick terminal. Within the past quarter, Amports has increased personnel, paved approximately 50 acres and opened a new 23,700-square-foot processing facility, he added.
   The other auto processors at the terminal are Atlantic Vehicle Processors Inc. and International Auto Processing Inc.
