Port of Corpus Christi sells warehouse to Colombian counterpart

Facility to help Port Santa Marta handle perishables.

Port of Corpus Christi commissioners voted Tuesday to approve the sale of a refrigerated warehouse to Port Santa Marta in Colombia for $410,000.
The warehouse is designated for removal to make way for a new bridge.
The Port of Santa Marta won the bid for the facility and intends to disassemble the warehouse, ship the pieces to Colombia and re-assemble the building and equipment on port property.
Colombia imports and exports significant quantities of refrigerated cargo, but presently does not have a port with refrigerated warehouses, Mauricio Suárez Ramírez, CEO of the port of Santa Marta said in a statement.
