PORT OF HAMBURG TOPS 5 MILLION TEUS
The Port of Hamburg has handled a record 5 million TEUs in 2002, setting a new record.
The record-setting container arrived aboard a P&O Nedlloyd vessel, the 'Sydney.'
Total transshipment volume is expected to reach 5.3 million TEUs by year end, which would mark a 14-percent increase over 2001, said Dr. Jurgen Sorgenfrei, chairman of Port of Hamburg Marketing.
