Port of HoustonÆs TEUs flat in 2006
Unaudited statistics provided by the Port of Houston Authority indicate that container throughput at the Texas port was flat in 2006 at 1.6 million TEUs.
Houston's total tonnage increased 15.6 percent to 40.4 million tons in 2006, from 34.9 million tons in the previous year.
The port authority also reported annual operating revenue of $164.7 million, up 7 percent over $153.9 million in 2005.
