Port of L.A. to open eight satellite offices

Port of L.A. to open eight satellite offices    The Port of Los Angeles is seeking to open a network of offices in Asia and South America to 'further promote its assets globally.'
   The port released a request for proposals, seeking qualified firms and individuals to provide international business development and trade promotion services in eight locations worldwide: South America (domiciled in Chile), South China (domiciled in Hong Kong), North China (domiciled in Shanghai), Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia (domiciled in Singapore), Taiwan and the U.S. East Coast.
   The satellite offices would replace the port's existing international representatives and would become part of the port's L.A-based business and trade development team.
