The Los Angeles Times reported the port has tentatively agreed to purchase the 27-story building for $130 million, which it said is less than the $150 million the current owner Legacy Partners paid in 2007.
The Times said the port told it in a statement that its current headquarters, built in 1959, is obsolete, overcrowded and seismically unsafe for the port’s 600 employees.
