Import container volume at Long Beach increased 8.7 percent to 319,737 TEUs, from 294,252 in June 2005. Exports were flat at 101,828 from 101,381 TEUs. Empty containers were up 8 percent to 195,437 TEUs from 180,971.
After six months, the total number of containers shipped through the Californian port has risen 9.3 percent to 5.29 million TEUs.
