Port of Los Angeles’ box volume up 15% in June

Port of Los Angeles’ box volume up 15% in June    Container throughput at the Port of Los Angeles increased 14.6 percent in June to 726,872 TEUs, compared to 634,048 TEUs in the same month last year.
   Loaded inbound traffic increased 13.8 percent to 380,853 TEUs, while loaded outbound volume went up 19.2 percent to 115,185 TEUs. The number of empty containers handled at the port increased 14 percent to 230,834 TEUs.
   After six months, the total number of containers shipped through the Port of Los Angeles has risen 8.9 percent to 3.87 million TEUs.
   Combining the Port of Los Angeles with the Port of Long Beach, the two major Californian ports have increased their box volumes by 9.1 percent after six months to 9.16 million TEUs.
