This is the seventh straight record setting year for the port. Nearly 8.5 million TEUs moved through the Port of Los Angeles in 2006, a 13.2 percent increase over 2005.
In addition to the annual record, the port’s monthly container volumes reached double digits increases during nine months of 2006.
