Port of Miami focus of FCBF meeting The Florida Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association has firmed up its guest speakers for its monthly general membership meeting July 18, bringing in a mix of officials to discuss what's next for the Port of Miami and the Port of Miami Terminal Operating Co.
   Howard Woodward, U.S. Customs and Border Protection's director of field operations in Miami, will be a speaker at the luncheon meeting. John Ballestero, POMTOC's vice president, will give an update on capital improvements at the terminal. A port panel will also feature James Maes, the port's assistant director for safety and security. Port Director Bill Johnson and Assistant Director Juan Kuryla have also been invited to participate.
   The luncheon will be held at the Miami Airport Hilton, 5301 Blue Lagoon Drive, Miami. An FCBF seminar on customs broker compliance practices, also at the Hilton, will precede the luncheon.
