Port of Palm Beach TEUs rise
Container volumes at the Port of Palm Beach are up 5.8 percent to 215,912 TEUs in the first 10 months of fiscal year 2007, compared to 204,059 for the year-earlier period.
Container traffic has been balanced with 103,341 TEUs inbound, 106,575 TEUs outbound, and 5,996 TEUs of transshipment traffic.
Breakbulk tonnage, however, has dropped to 84,120 short tons from 137,525 a year ago. Combined general cargo tonnage for container and breakbulk is down 7.9 percent to slightly more than 1 million tons.
