PORT OF SAVANNAH POSTS RECORD CONTAINER VOLUME
The Port of Savannah topped 1 million TEUs for the second time during its fiscal year ended June 30, said Doug Marchand, executive director of the Georgia Ports Authority.
The port handled 1.137 million TEUs at its Garden City Terminal, a 11.3-percent increase over the previous fiscal year. In its last two fiscal years, container growth has topped 31 percent, Marchand said.
