PPG INDUSTRIES INC. AWARDS CONTRACT TO LOGISTICS.COM
PPG Industries Inc., a manufacturer of coatings, glass, fiber glass and chemicals, has signed a three-year, multimillion-dollar agreement with Logistics.com Inc. to deploy its OptiManage transportation management and execution software.
The contract covers multi-modal transportation management and execution, coordinated out of PPG's corporate transportation management center in Deleware, Ohio. PPG is using the entire suite of ASP-delivered OptiManage modules, which are initially handling order management, consolidation, routing, selection, tendering, tracking and tracing of 2,200 to 2,500 loads per week. At peak performance, the system will handle nearly 4,000 loads a week or more than 200,000 annually, Logistics.com said.
Logistics.com is based in Burlington, Mass.
