project44 launches next generation of its platform

The Chicago-based technology company, which builds APIs for the logistics and transportation industry, said the newly launched connectNG incorporates steps toward greater cloud security and enhanced ability to normalize disparate data sets.    project44, a provider of web-service application program interfaces (APIs) for the freight industry, has launched the next generation of its supply chain visibility and connectivity platform today.
The newly launched connectNG incorporates steps toward greater cloud security and enhanced ability to normalize disparate data sets, project44 said.
It is part of a new product enhancement strategy in which the company will issue upgrades on a near-monthly basis.
This new approach is fueled by the $10.5 million in funding the company secured in September 2016 from two tech-focused venture capital groups – Emergence Capital and Chicago Ventures.
With the new release, project44’s Capacity Provider Network (CPN) can be accessed by customers and partners through the Core Services API. “connectNG includes a complete refresh of the Core Services API, resulting in a more user-friendly interface that enables faster consumption of information and reduced integration time,” project44 said.
connectNG also features upgrades that leverage the Swagger open source framework and related publishing tools.
“With this next-gen data normalization capability, project44 clients eliminate over 73 percent of the manual database tasks required by EDI and legacy technology,” project44 VP of Product Management Steven Jones said. “That includes time consuming tasks like phone calls and emails to check data accuracy, database management, rate loading, data scrubbing and more. With connectNG, those extra administrative steps become minimized – or, in most cases, fully eliminated.”
