Port of Miami director Charles Towsley has been named honorary chairman for Miami Maritime Day 2006. Events will include a scramble golf tournament at 1 p.m., followed by a dinner, awards, and door prizes at 6 p.m.
Proceeds from Maritime Day go to the Propeller Club and benefit the University of Miami Propeller Club Student Port Scholarship Endowment Fund.
The cost is $400 for golf teams and $125 for individual golfers. Sponsorships start at $200, with Gold sponsorships at $2,000 and Platinum sponsorships at $3,000. Corporate souvenirs, logo items and all sponsorships are welcome. Delivery and transportation arrangements can be provided for all donations, and prize donations or quantities 'are never too small,' organizers said.
