Port Authority executive director Fernando Bonilla said the 10 airports in Puerto Rico lost an estimated $8 million in 2005, primarily because of reduced traffic at the airports for Ponce in the south and Aquadilla in the northeast.
But he said Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (serving San Juan) had a record number of 10.6 million passengers in fiscal year 2005, and that air cargo was up slightly for the year, as well, according to a report in the Miami Herald.
