The Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association has entered into an alliance
with JMV Transportation Services of Puerto Rico Inc. to develop a shippers association to
negotiate maritime shipping rates.
The association will seek "better rates and services in northbound and
southbound cargo to and from the United States, Latin America, Europe, Middle East and
other destinations," the PRMA said in a statement.
The entity will be independent of the PRMA, a not-for-profit group with 1,750
member manufacturers and service companies.
