Purolator USA opens New York facility    Purolator USA said it opened a new processing facility in Farmingdale, Long Island in June to offer cross border logistics services for shipments traveling between the United States and Canada.
   The 8,000-square-foot facility will service businesses located across the metropolitan New York region, including New York City, northern New Jersey, Westchester and Rockland counties, Long Island and southern Connecticut.
   Mike DiBenedetto, branch manager, said the new facility provides easy access to the region's airports and highway.
   Purolator USA Inc. is a subsidiary of Purolator Courier Ltd., Canada's largest overnight courier company, and specializes in the air and surface forwarding of small packages and freight shipments, customs brokerage and delivery to, from and within the North American market. It said it has doubled the size of its U.S. office network during the past 18 months, with branches or gateways now operating in Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, Buffalo, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham and New York.
