Qatar Airways expands cold-chain capabilities

   Qatar Airways Cargo announced today the launch of two new services, Q Pharma and Q Fresh, to transport time- and temperature-sensitive goods, including high-value pharmaceuticals and perishables. 
   Q Pharma, an air freight service for pharmaceutical and healthcare products, provides temperature controlled containers designed to maintain a constant temperature throughout the entire transport. Driven by increased global regulation and stricter guidelines on pharmaceutical distribution, the focus on temperature management has gained momentum, the carrier said. 
   The second new service, Q Fresh, is designed for shipping perishable products requiring temperature control during transit. 
   “Air cargo standards for handling time and temperature sensitive commodities such as pharmaceuticals and perishables are becoming more stringent, with stricter guidelines on temperature control,” stated Ulrich Ogiermann, chief cargo officer at Qatar Airways. “Our new fleet of climate controlled vehicles eliminates temperature exclusions and provides a seamless and rapid transfer at our Doha hub.”
