QIVA TO ACQUIRE CAPSTAN SYSTEMS

QIVA TO ACQUIRE CAPSTAN SYSTEMS    Qiva, a global logistics and transportation management solutions provider said Tuesday it has reached agreement to acquire Capstan Systems Inc., a provider of Web-based global supply chain services.
   The combined companies will create a broad logistics offering, including collaboration, visibility and control for shippers, logistics and transportation services providers, Qiva said.
   Terms of the deal, which is subject to customary closing conditions were not disclosed. The companies expect to complete the deal within six weeks.
   Qiva, based in San Francisco, has offices in Asia, Europe and North America and 14,000 users in 37 countries.
   Capstan, also based in San Francisco, provides networked application services including Global Logistics Management, Global Export Management, Global Import Management and Global Landed Cost.
