Quality Carriers selects computer-assisted driver training

Quality Distribution said it has signed a deal with Instructional Technologies Inc. to provide computer-based training for its 3,150 drivers.

Instructional Technologies, based in Vancouver, Wash., is shipping computer terminals to 121 Quality Carriers sites in the United States and Canada. The computers are linked to a network database of high-resolution video and animation driving scenarios. Every driver will take at least eight lessons per year for ongoing training, Quality said.

Quality Carriers, specializing in bulk transport, is the main operating company for Tampa, Fla.-based Quality Distribution.
