Queen Alia International Airport sees 7.3% surge in cargo volumes

The Jordanian airport handled 100,691 tons of cargo in 2015, a 7.3 percent increase from 2014.

   Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Jordan handled 100,691 tons of cargo during 2015, a 7.3 percent year-over-year increase, according to the Airport International Group, which is responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of the airport.
   In December alone, the Jordanian airport handled 9,764 tons of cargo, representing the largest amount it has ever handled in one single month.
   QAIA is situated 35 kilometers (21.7 miles) south of the center of Jordan’s capital, Amman. The airport extends across 19 million square meters of land and is equipped with two parallel runways.
